The Bioremediation of Chlorinated Solvents Consortium is one of eight Action Teams of the RTDF. The Bioremediation Consortium was established in May 1993, when representatives from various companies, universities, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Department of Defense (DOD), and the Department of Energy (DOE) met to discuss their mutual interest in developing in situ bioremediation technologies to degrade chlorinated solvents in soils and ground water.
