Q> Should I check for naturally occurring bacteria prior to using Cl-out or Petrox?
A> All soils and ground water have natural occurring bacteria. There may be bacteria present at the site that may degrade the contaminants of concern. Checking for the natural bacteria population will confirm that the environment is not completely toxic to bacteria due to the presence of high levels of dissolved metals, strong oxidizers, extreme pH or other extreme conditions. The presence of a background microbial population, however, does not mean that the naturally occurring bacteria can be stimulated to degrade the chemicals of concern. Using Cl-out and Petrox takes out the guesswork. These are known degraders selected for their ability to degrade the target chemicals efficiently and quickly.
