Increase dissolved oxygen for
optimum bioremediation results.

When using CL-out® or Petrox® to treat a contaminated site, dissolved oxygen (DO) is often the limiting factor to success. Temporary air sparging can be used to increase the DO found in the soil and groundwater at a site. The process can be simple and efficient by adding compressed air directly to the bioremediation injection points, which are already in place. In addition to increasing the DO in the system, the compressed air will increase the distribution of the microbes in the soil and groundwater.

The DO can often be supplemented by injecting the air for as little as 15 minutes per injection point at 2 to 15 PSI. For optimum results the DO should be maintained at 1 mg/L or greater. The idea is to increase the DO without pushing the contaminants away from the injection point.
